Former png police commissioner geoffrey vaki sentenced jail term for abusing children in his police force.“
In 2012 he was found guilty of sexual assault after having sex with a 16-year-old boy and sexually assaulting another boy.
A court heard he had a history of abusing boys, many younger than the 18-year-old victim세종안마, and he had been sentenced last November after a trial.
When Barry began serving his jail term he was one of only three police officers to be given a prison sentence, the Sunday Mirror reported.
The others were Constable Andrew Walker and Det Sergeant Tony Dickson who is thought to have been convicted of rape.
Barry also had to go through a medical examination. He would undergo a sex reassignment in July 2014 and had been to a sex change clinic for two weeks.
The court heard he was told „he was going to have to live with that forever“ in the jail, after having sex with his partner several times while his partner was working as a guard in his department.
The young man, from Bishaw in North Warwickshire, was released in August 2015 and is due to start a new job in February this year.
He previously made three appearances at Bishaw Magistrates’ Court where he told the judge his mental health was deteriorating and he felt like he was becoming „unwell“.
Justice Ian Waugh-Jones told Barry: „At no point in your time in prison did you use any of your knowledge for an advantage, use any of your power for an advantage, act unlawfully.
„The conduct shown was the abuse of your powers for a purpose or purposeless end.
„If a sentence of 10 years, five months, or so was just the beginning, that is a strong message.“
Citing the fact that he had given several reasons for his actions, the judge added: „That a person in any kind of position of authority should make it your business to abuse children is to be condemned for what it is.“
Barry is currently in solitary confinement.
